Directive for emergencies apparently gives authority without congressional oversight

President Bush has signed a directive granting extraordinary powers to the office of the president in the event of a declared national emergency, apparently without congressional approval or oversight.
The "National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive" was signed May 9, notes Jerome R. Corsi in a WND column.
It was issued with the dual designation of NSPD-51, as a National Security Presidential Directive, and HSPD-20, as a Homeland Security Presidential Directive.

The directive establishes under the office of the president a new national continuity coordinator whose job is to make plans for "National Essential Functions" of all federal, state, local, territorial and tribal governments, as well as private sector organizations to continue functioning under the president's directives in the event of a national emergency.
"Catastrophic emergency" is loosely defined as "any incident, regardless of location, that results in extraordinary levels of mass casualties, damage, or disruption severely affecting the U.S. population, infrastructure, environment, economy, or government functions."

Corsi says the president can assume the power to direct any and all government and business activities until the emergency is declared over.
The directive says the assistant to the president for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism, currently Frances Fragos Townsend, would be designated as the national continuity coordinator.
Corsi says the directive makes no attempt to reconcile the powers created for the national continuity coordinator with the National Emergency Act, which requires that such proclamation "shall immediately be transmitted to the Congress and published in the Federal Register."
A Congressional Research Service study notes the National Emergency Act sets up Congress as a balance empowered to "modify, rescind, or render dormant" such emergency authority if Congress believes the president has acted inappropriately.
But the new directive appears to supersede the National Emergency Act by creating the new position of national continuity coordinator without any specific act of Congress authorizing the position, Corsi says.
The directive also makes no reference to Congress and its language appears to negate any requirement that the president submit to Congress a determination that a national emergency exists.
It suggests instead that the powers of the directive can be implemented without any congressional approval or oversight.
Homeland Security spokesman Russ Knocke affirmed to Corsi the Homeland Security Department would implement the requirements of the order under Townsend's direction.
The White House declined to comment on the directive.

Is it at all possible that the war Iraq is a continuation of Operation AJAX for control of the area?

More and more People are starting to wonder “IF” 9/11 was an inside job set up by the Shadow Government. More and more is coming out that professional workers at the site noticed something different that happened, THAN WHAT HAS COME OUT ON THE “OFFICAL” REPORT. I will post a video from Terrorstorm, this same type of thing has happened once already and of course at the time, was also a conspiracy. Once all was said and done, was one more time proven to be more MISSDIRECTION! Go figure.

After watching the possibility on Conspiracy, that something other than JP-4/6 “could” have caused the collapse of the towers. After watching that the aircraft used “MAY” have been already hijacked before the flights ever left the ground. Add to this the possibility that our Military was on an exercise and therefore thought the planes "MAY" have been part if it. After reading that someone else besides me will not believe stretching beams and braking concrete caused the collapse (NIST and molten steel/iron: Forget Science), after one of the aircraft took out the corner of the tower, the building comes straight down? I would think it should have come down more or less on the side the corner was missing on would you not think?

Alex Jones may not be as far off base as people are trying to make him out to be, look at the facts yourself. Look at the past and see “IF” this was done already. Looks to be the same mentality is at work or the same group of people at work, as it worked once before.

In another measure of how what the establishment labels “conspiracy theory” is quickly becoming mainstream, Bloomberg News carries a story today acknowledging that those derided as “crazy” for warning that the world is run by a secret banking cabal have largely been proven right in light of the AIG cover-up.
“The idea of secret banking cabals that control the country and global economy are a given among conspiracy theorists who stockpile ammo, bottled water and peanut butter. After this week’s congressional hearing into the bailout of American International Group Inc., you have to wonder if those folks are crazy after all,” writes Bloomberg’s David Reilly [2] today.
“Wednesday’s hearing described a secretive group deploying billions of dollars to favored banks, operating with little oversight by the public or elected officials.”
Reilly goes on to describe how the New York Fed conducted a backdoor bailout (or in plainer terms a wholesale looting of the taxpayer) of banks like Goldman Sachs Group Inc., Merrill Lynch & Co., Societe Generale and Deutsche Bank AG, and then sought to keep it secret from the public.
Reilly also highlights another telling quote by Representative Marcy Kaptur during the hearing on Wednesday, when she told Geithner, “A lot of people think that the president of the New York Fed works for the U.S. government. But in fact you work for the private banks that elected you.”
Reilly savages Tim Geithner’s denial of any involvement in the scandal and concludes with stating, “When unelected and unaccountable agencies pick banking winners while trying to end-run Congress, even as taxpayers are forced to lend, spend and guarantee about $8 trillion to prop up the financial system, our collective blood should boil.”

As we have constantly emphasized, as the global government and the financial takeover accelerates, it’s becoming harder and harder for the elite to hide the true intention of what they are doing, which is centralizing power into fewer hands, destroying sovereignty and creating a one world order run by an unelected, undemocratic authoritarian system.
So whereas “conspiracy theorists” were once sidelined as paranoid kooks, as more and more of what they warned about comes to fruition, they gain more credibility and the establishment finds it more difficult to neutralize what they are saying by means of character assassination.
The Bloomberg writer’s admission that the “conspiracy theorists” were probably right reminds us of former Clinton advisor **** Morris’ appearance on Fox News last year, when he pointed out that people who have been sounding the alarm bells over a global government takeover for decades have also been vindicated.
“Those people who have been yelling ‘oh the UN’s gonna take over, global government’, they’ve been crazy but now – they’re right!,” stated Morris on Sean Hannity’s show.

I was thinking of making a separate thread about the below website, but this is a good topic.

The truth is, the group of the very rich select few have been performing a systematic take over of the globe. If enough people wake up to what is going on, it will be hard to complete. The people in any position of power are compromised very early on and at every level.

Please read the entire book at the link above. A lot of work went into it.

The most important piece of information I find in the book for myself is the info about organized stalking. This well funded civilian police force is running amok in America and other countries. It makes 0 sense to me that more people don't stand up and start colling their local reps about this phenomonon. Just look at videos from people that lived in Socialist East Germany, they talk over and over again about the civilian police and how they 'policed' the civilian population. How they were in every business and reported back to the state info about their co workers. And it is happning in America right now. Theres not even a news story about it. Police are ordered not to investigate and label the complainer as mentally unstable. And if targets do not cow and start causing trouble, they are being murdered. This is real. AND IF YOU THINK THAT BEING QUIET AND NOT DOING ANYTHING WILL PROTECT YOU, YOU ARE WRONG. AS ONE OF THE SCUMBAGS TOLD ME, "YOU ARE EITHER WITH US OR AGAINST US." Civilian police, coming soon to a neighborhood watch near you.

Wake up guys, what do you think the end game is on this one?

This to me; sounds more like the thinking of Adolf Hitler and his backers (Banking Cartel
), than that of the of the United States. Unless, as we slept, a Shadow Government has come in and taken over. I have said it over and over, strip away the Misdirection that is passed by the Spin Doctors, and what is left should be the truth. Read this and “LOOK” to whom came up with the statement below in the first place. Please “LOOK” at the names at the bottom and what they represent.

If “YOU” still think or Government has not had “KEY POSITIONS” filled by people that have a different agenda then a DEMACRADIC SOCIETY, think again. Now, it is heading back toward the Middle Ages, when feudalism was the law of the land. You say I’m wrong however, If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, It is a DUCK!

American foreign and defense policy is adrift. Conservatives have criticized the incoherent policies of the Clinton Administration. They have also resisted isolationist impulses from within their own ranks. But conservatives have not confidently advanced a strategic vision of America's role in the world. They have not set forth guiding principles for American foreign policy. They have allowed differences over tactics to obscure potential agreement on strategic objectives. And they have not fought for a defense budget that would maintain American security and advance American interests in the new century.

We aim to change this. We aim to make the case and rally support for American global leadership.

As the 20th century draws to a close, the United States stands as the world's preeminent power. Having led the West to victory in the Cold War, America faces an opportunity and a challenge: Does the United States have the vision to build upon the achievements of past decades? Does the United States have the resolve to shape a new century favorable to American principles and interests?

We are in danger of squandering the opportunity and failing the challenge. We are living off the capital -- both the military investments and the foreign policy achievements -- built up by past administrations. Cuts in foreign affairs and defense spending, inattention to the tools of statecraft, and inconstant leadership are making it increasingly difficult to sustain American influence around the world. And the promise of short-term commercial benefits threatens to override strategic considerations. As a consequence, we are jeopardizing the nation's ability to meet present threats and to deal with potentially greater challenges that lie ahead.

We seem to have forgotten the essential elements of the Reagan Administration's success: a military that is strong and ready to meet both present and future challenges; a foreign policy that boldly and purposefully promotes American principles abroad; and national leadership that accepts the United States' global responsibilities.

Of course, the United States must be prudent in how it exercises its power. But we cannot safely avoid the responsibilities of global leadership or the costs that are associated with its exercise. America has a vital role in maintaining peace and security in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. If we shirk our responsibilities, we invite challenges to our fundamental interests. The history of the 20th century should have taught us that it is important to shape circumstances before crises emerge, and to meet threats before they become dire. The history of this century should have taught us to embrace the cause of American leadership. MY Question; The U.S.,is now the arm of a shadow Government. How did this happen?

Our aim is to remind Americans of these lessons and to draw their consequences for today. Here are four consequences:

• we need to increase defense spending significantly if we are to carry out our global
responsibilities today and modernize our armed forces for the future;

• we need to strengthen our ties to democratic allies and to challenge regimes hostile to our interests and values;

• we need to promote the cause of political and economic freedom abroad;

• we need to accept responsibility for America's unique role in preserving and extending an international order friendly to our security, our prosperity, and our principles.

Such a Reaganite policy of military strength and moral clarity may not be fashionable today. But it is necessary if the United States is to build on the successes of this past century and to ensure our security and our greatness in the next.

Maybe; it is all a conspiracy however, this is the first time I have come across the above. I had come across the one about Standard Oil supplying Hitler’s U- Boats and who knows what else one can dig up. Then why is it that the money acquired from such operations gave them such a strong voice in running this country. Worse, there offspring are now in politics and have a hand in running this country. Yet, they have no attachment to anything Grand***her had done. The name of Skill and Bones and Bohemian Grove have no ties to Hitler’s Germany. Yet how many of our leaders belong?

Percy Rockefeller was the only Rockefeller initiated into the Order. He represented the Rockefeller investment in Guaranty Trust and was a director from 1915 until 1930

Much to their surprise, the amendment was ratified by one state legislature after another, and on February 25, 1913, with the certification by Secretary of State Philander C. #2: In December, over the Christmas Holidays, of the same year, 1913, they got the Senate to vote and pass the Federal Reserve Act or simply put, the FED was born!

With the above happening the people of the United States would now be in debt to the Bankers. The Bankers now control the U.S. Government because now the Government is in Debt to the banks! How would the debt be paid to the bank? Well; Income Tax would be collected from the people, by the IRS, and that in turn would be paid to the banks for the debt and the interest that had to be paid. As we now know, later down the road the Social Security System was put in place, and some people believe this is what the U.S. Government did to repay the Banking Cartel after the Great Depression.
